TREASURE COAST -- Pitted against business students from around the world, Indian River State College students took home several top honors at the 2013 Delta Epsilon Chi International Career Development Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California.

Thousands of college and university students from across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and England competed against each other in various business events. IRSC was only one of two schools from Florida to place at this international event.

IRSC students, Amelia Strazzulla of Vero Beach and Zach Moore of Sebastian placed third in Sports and Entertainment Marketing.

Other IRSC students placing "Top Ten in the Nation" were: Briana DiFrancesco of Port St. Lucie and Kayla Evers of Port St. Lucie in Business Law; Michael Johnson of Vero Beach and Nelson Ramos of Port St. Lucie in Project Management; and Jermaine Poindexter of Vero Beach in Travel and Tourism.

In addition, IRSC Assistant Professor and Chief DECA advisor, Jill Novak, was honored as Florida's DECA Advisor of the Year for her dedication and commitment to her students.

Delta Epsilon Chi is a national student business organization for college students preparing for a variety of careers, maintaining a strong focus on business-related areas such as marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.

IRSC offers four-year bachelor's degrees in Business Administration, Organizational Management, Nursing, Health Care Management, Biology, Education, Digital Media, Human Services, Criminal Justice and Public Safety Administration, as well as two-year associate's degrees and technical certificate programs.
