STUART -- Craig Thibodeau grew up with dogs, and is now dedicating his life to making sure his four-legged friends get the best treatment in town.
Since opening their doors on April 1, Pet World is steadily making an impact on the community. From the latest in healthy dog and cat food, to pet boarding and K-9 training, pet owners can find anything they desire for their animal companions.
"There isn't much we don't carry," said Mr. Thibodeau. "We have everything from collars to training items for police dogs. We carry items that you can't find in bigger retail stores."
Pet World also offers services to make life easier for their customers.
"There are some customers who would prefer to buy a bigger bag of pet food, but because it's heavy and they have trouble carrying it in their house, they opt to buy a smaller bag. That's why we have a '7-70-$70' rule. If someone lives within seven miles of our store, is over the age of 70 or spends more than $70 on products, we will deliver it to them free of charge."
Residents in assisted living facilities and those older citizens who live in neighborhoods near Pet World will soon benefit from their door-to-door service. Making life easier for those residents who can't easily get around or who can't physically drive or lift heavy bags of dog food is something that Mr. Thibodeau is looking forward to expanding.
Dogs can also benefit from Pet World's five-star treatments. Full-service bath and grooming is available by appointment and available seven days a week.
Owners can choose different spa packages including the master groomer, which provides a luxurious spa setting featuring all natural shampoos and pet grooming products. Dogs of all sizes are treated to a full service, spa and a la carte dog-grooming packages that include spa baths and facials.
Full-service grooming packages can include ear cleaning, brush out, nail trim, paw pad trim, sanitary trim, relaxing spa bath, fluff dry and a customized haircut.
Obedience classes are also offered to help owners have a better relationship with their four-legged friend. Certified dog-training professionals can teach such things as sit and stay, walking on a leash, and limit nipping and jumping.
Training classes are held seven days a week and are designed for each animal on an individual basis.
"We have professionals who really know how to teach dogs how to be obedient," Mr. Thibodeau said. "These trainers work with rescue dogs and all breeds. They can make such a difference in a home with a problem pet."
Pet World also offers boarding and doggy day care for those who don't want to leave their animals at home during the day. There are a plethora of services available, including dog-park exercise, overnight stays and a doggy weekend training camp.
Another service offered is home waste removal. For a fee, Pet World will remove doggy waste from a client's home. Price is based on how many dogs reside at the home.
For the pet owner looking to spoil their furry friend, Pet World is the place to shop. Whether looking for a bedazzled leather collar, a luxurious doggy bed, a traveling kennel, natural and organic cat or dog food, or looking for somewhere that provides hydrotherapy for a muscle-relaxing water massage, residents in Jensen Beach have the perfect locale.
Novelty items such as stickers and license plates featuring every breed imaginable line the aisles, and soon, residents in St. Lucie West will be able to enjoy the incredible items that Pet World has to offer.
Pet World is located at 1700 N.W. Federal Highway in Stuart.
