Ronnie Cravenho loads food onto a pallet for distribution as part of the Stamp Out Hunger food drive. For the past 21 years, The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has helped feed those in need in our community. This year, members of the National Association of Letter Carriers on 94 routes in Vero Beach, will gather food to supply pantries at the Food Bank of Indian River County, Harvest Food and Outreach, Lakeside Fellowship, St. Helen Catholic Church, First Church of God, Temple of Truth, Breath of Heaven, Our Father's Table, the Salvation Army and Tabernacle Ministries. According to Vero Beach postmaster Rich Hankins, this year's drive raised 64,166 pounds of food, up from approximately 61,000 pounds of food collected last year.
