VIERA -- Beauty. Intelligence. Power. Grace.
These are all words that accurately describe women.
In celebration of the women of Brevard County, One Senior Place will host its seventh annual "Women's Day Extravaganza," Friday, May 17 from noon until 4 p.m.
"When One Senior Place first opened, we realized that women are the caregivers of our families and communities, and we're so busy caring for others, that we rarely have time to take care of ourselves," said Kathi Ridner, director at One Senior Place. "This event has always been about empowering the women of Brevard County to be proud of their accomplishments and acknowledging that they're wonderful and amazing!"
This year's "Women's Day Extravaganza" will focus on women's health issues and anti-aging techniques. Featured speakers include Dr. Aimee Tieu of Health First and Dr. Kim Zipper, owner of The Fountain of You.
"Dr. Tieu, a urogynecologist, will discuss surgical and non-surgical solutions for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse," Mrs. Ridner said. "Dr. Zipper will share how to 'Live More and Age Less.'"
The "Extravaganza" will also feature a Glamour Makeover, that includes a free haircut, color and style by master stylist Marianne Racca, teeth-bleaching by Dr. Scott Reader, a $200 anti-aging treatment by Dr. Zipper, an outfit donated by Whittaker Cooper Financial Group, makeup by Mary Kay Cosmetics and jewelry by Charming Charlie's.
"The lucky winner of our Glamour Makeover will be revealed at the event," Mrs. Ridner added.
"Our 'Women's Day Extravaganza' is truly meant to celebrate women, to shine a light on what makes them special," Mrs. Ridner said. "It's one of our favorite events at One Senior Place, and I don't know who enjoys it more -- the attendees or our staff!"
"Women's Day Extravaganza," hosted by One Senior Place, is Friday, May 17 from noon until 4 p.m. The event is free.
