SEWALL'S POINT -- At the annual meeting of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute Foundation, Jacqui Thurlow-Lippisch of Sewall's Point was named the Foundation's newest member.
She is currently serving her second term as a commissioner with the Town of Sewall's Point, and served as former mayor.
She is a member of the Treasure Coast Council of Local Governments, a board member of the Rivers Coalition Defense Fund, Rivers Coalition and the Founder/Administrator of "River Kidz," a youth division of the Rivers Coalition.
She is an alternate on the Water Resource Advisory Committee with the South Florida Water Management District and an active committee member with the Florida League of Cities.
She has been a Martin County resident since 1965, and is currently a volunteer at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute working in the marine mammal division.
The mission of Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute Foundation, Inc. is to support Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, a research institute of Florida Atlantic University. The Foundation supports marine science and engineering research and education by funding HBOI-FAU efforts to advance understanding of oceans and coastal areas through exploration and scientific inquiry. HBOIF is a 501 (c) 3 organization and a direct support organization of Florida Atlantic University benefitting Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute.
