Thoughtful, intuitive work at the gallery

Nancy Hamlin-Vogler will explore the infinite in her solo show at the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery in Melbourne.

The show will run through June 2.

Ms. Hamlin-Vogler's artwork is thoughtful and intuitive, using mixed mediums on prepared paper. Her favorite materials combine acrylic paints with gesso, pastels, charcoal pencil and pasted paper elements from her silkscreens and drawings.

She studied art at Wells College and learned the screen-printing process, while a grad student at the University of Maine.

An award-winning artist, she is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association and exhibits in gallery shows throughout Florida.

For the past 10 years, she has co-directed the Louise Freshman Brown Art Workshops in St. Augustine.

The gallery is located at 1470 Highland Ave., in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne, across the street from the Foosaner Art Museum.

The gallery telephone number is (321) 259-8261.

Visit the gallery at http://www.fifthavenueartgallery.com and on Facebook.

The St. Augustine artist will also give a Second Saturday Gallery Talk and Demo on May 11 at 2 p.m. at the gallery. Plan to arrive early, as seating is limited.

Fourth anniversary show

The Art Gallery of Viera will present the opening reception of its Fourth Anniversary Show from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at 2261 Town Center Ave., Suite 111, Viera.

The show will feature special work from artist members.

The silent world of 'innerspace'

Michael Robinson was the "2012 100% Pure Florida" winner. He will join in for the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery opening reception during the monthly First Friday event in old Eau Gallie in Melbourne. Peruse the avenue and the galleries and take in a wonderful evening.

The opening reception will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at 1470 Highland Ave. in Melbourne.

In Mr. Robinson's hands, glass is not worked or manipulated, but transformed into designs that suspend time.

Captured in this exquisitely unforgiving medium is a portal into the mind's eye of this talented artist.

Entry may take us to a distant windswept shore or result in the quiet contemplation of a single perfect bloom or plunge us into the depths of that remote region known as innerspace. It is when speaking of this silent world that Mr. Robinson's voice is most clear.

The exhibit runs from June 3-30.

For more information, call (321) 259-8261 or visit www.fifthavenueartgallery.com.
