Poetry brothers cross the line
The team of Dan Pels and Bob Calabrese, who bill themselves as the Poetry Brothers, have finally crossed the line -- moving from rave reviews in New Smyrna Beach to a full nightclub-style performance on May 11 at Caffeine Bistro and Wine Bar, 49 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach.
The act, which grew out of the Blues Brothers characters of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, will bring the two entertainers together with new routines that prove poets can be genuinely fun.
The program, co-sponsored by the Creative Happiness Institute and the Ormond Beach Arts District, has a suggested donation of $5.
A happy hour starts at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m. Those in attendance can order from a full menu available in The Cellar, the room set aside for the performance.
Parking for the event is accessed from New Britain Avenue at the rear of the restaurant. Patrons can park their own vehicle in the lot signed for Rose Villa Restaurant, or use the valet parking beside the back entrance to Caffeine.
