Indian River State College is hosting a special Advanced Technology Open House at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7.

Aquarium closed on Mondays

The St. Lucie County Aquarium, featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, has returned to its normal hours of operations and is now closed on Mondays.

Standard hours of operations for the Aquarium are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The aquarium is located at 420 Seaway Drive, in Fort Pierce.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 seniors and children ages 4-17. The first Tuesday of each month is free admission day. Group rates and memberships are available.

Nonprofits hosting public event

The Solar and Energy Loan Fund, St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, and the St. Lucie County Community Services Department are co-hosting the "Sweet Home St. Lucie" event to increase energy awareness in the community on May 18 at Dreamland Park in Fort Pierce.

The event will include enjoy free food, family entertainment, free money budgeting consultations, and to learn more about how they can take advantage of the services offered by SELF, St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, the St. Lucie County Community Services Department, and event sponsors.
