FORT PIERCE -- It's time to cut loose and kick off your Sunday shoes, because "Footloose" is coming to the Fort Pierce Central stage on April 26 and 27.
The Fort Pierce Central Performing Arts Department is presenting the Broadway musical of "Footloose" at the Fort Pierce Central High School Auditorium.
The story starts with Ren McCormack as the new kid, making his way in the small town of Bomont, Illinois. Inspired by the hit movie, lyricists Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie bring Mr. McCormack, Reverend Shaw Moore and the rest of the characters to the stage, telling a powerful story of family, survival and healing.
This is just one of the many productions for the theatre department. Throughout the year, they also perform mystery dinner theatre and a fall production for the public. As International Thespian Troupe No. 4618, the students participate in and have earned Superior ratings in theatrical competitions at the district and state levels.
The performances of "Footloose" will take place at 7 p.m. on April 26, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on April 27. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the Fort Pierce Central box office and the St. Lucie County School Board Office.
The Fort Pierce Central High School Auditorium is located at 1401 South 25th St., in Fort Pierce.
