Lane closure

The engineering department is replacing the existing stormwater pipe that crosses under S.E. 138th Street, approximately 100 feet west of the intersection with Kitchen Creek Road.

Intermittent lane closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. until May 10. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to exercise caution and expect minor delays in this area.

College to host advanced technology careers open house May 2

Indian River State College is hosting a special Advanced Technology Open House on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. May 2.

Students will learn about skills in the latest technologies available in the College's Advanced Technology Institutes.

Free skin cancer screenings offered

May 6 is Melanoma Monday and the official launch of Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month.

McKay Dermatology & MedSpa in Stuart will be offering free skin cancer screenings to the public throughout the month of May.

YMCA to host Healthy Kids Day on April 27

On Saturday, April 27, the YMCA of the Treasure Coast is celebrating YMCA's Healthy Kids Day with a free community event that encourages kids on the Treasure Coast to get moving and learning, and families living healthier.

Healthy Kids Day will take place at two Treasure Coast locations: the Stuart branch on Monterey Road and the YMCA Program Center on Bayshore Boulevard in Port St. Lucie. The events will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and will feature fun and active play activities, such as dance demonstrations, bounce houses, arts & crafts, and many local kid-related informational vendors.
