Airport announces paperless eBoarding passes

This new passenger check-in option is a timesaving service that allows customers who check in on Delta.com or the Delta App to download boarding passes to their smartphone or other preferred mobile device. Customers then simply present a photo identification and scan their eBoarding pass at the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint.

Delta customers with eBoarding passes can check their luggage curbside at airports, where the service is available, then proceed to the security checkpoint.

While the eBoarding service is currently available only to Delta Air Lines customers, this technology will be offered to other participating airlines in the near future.

Melbourne International Airport serves east Central Florida, including Brevard and Indian River counties, and is responsible for generating more than $1 billion per year in economic activity.

It is among the nation's fastest-growing aviation manufacturing and maintenance hubs, and is the closest international airport to Port Canaveral, one of the world's busiest cruise ports.

The airport currently serves Delta Air Lines and its affiliates, US Airways and Baer Air.
