PORT ORANGE -- From a bus tour to see a Broadway show in Orlando or a nine-day tour of the Historic Train of Colorado to a cruise through the Panama Canal or a Branson Holidays by Jet Tour, Royal Coach Tours can offer it all.

Marcya Wantuch, owner of Royal Coach Tours and Cruises, provides great bus trips, tours and cruises at very affordable prices and delivers them with a personal, caring touch.

Ms. Wantuch has been in the travel industry since she was 18 when she landed her first job at a travel agency in Mobile, Ala. "That was back when we had to write all airline tickets by hand and there were no computers to find the best deals," she reminisced. She went to work for TWA as a flight attendant, based in New York City, so she could travel the world, knowing most of her trips would be international. Three years later she met her husband who was an airline pilot.

She started Royal Coach 21 years ago after several people suggested she should open her own business. "I saw the writing on the wall for the traditional store front travel agencies, and have successfully worked from home, while raising three children" she said. "I remember escorting a tour once to Epcot while I was eight months pregnant!" she said with a chuckle.

She felt she could provide a service to the generation that enjoyed traveling, had the time to travel, but felt more at ease with an escorted group tour or cruise. With her husband flying around the world and gone for days at a time, they decided to move to Port Orange where she had family and could open her own business catering to the large senior market.

With a growing repeat cliental and her vast connections in the industry, Ms. Wantuch is able to arrange travel packages at great rates to many different places all over the world. "We did a cruise down to the Panama Canal last year and saw the new canal being built," she said. "We also have gone up into Canada and twice had groups fly to the Canadian Rockies and traveled by train on the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver."

On most of the trips she serves as the escort, giving personal service from day one as they begin from this area, giving tours of local places and ensuring her customers get "VIP" treatment during their trip, as well as taking care of any medical emergencies that occur.

Her clients tend to be from the over 50 population, "because most of the older generation have worked hard all their lives and now want to enjoy traveling with other fun and happy folks their own age," she said. "Many of our clients have become great friends and some have even met and gotten married after meeting on our tours."

Ms. Wantuch enjoys her job because not only does she get to travel, but she is also providing a much-needed service for the senior community. "The thing about my business that I love is that people enjoy going on these trips," she smiled, "they are having a great time and are always smiling." She said it is an enjoyable, rewarding atmosphere. "There's nothing like getting hugs from 55 people on the bus each tour! I feel like I am doing something for the seniors and my best reward is seeing the smiles on their faces," she said.

Ms. Wantuch likes to give her clients little extra touches on their trips. She will try to line up some local sights to see on the night before the group goes on a cruise and then have the bus take them to the cruise or the airport the next day.

She also helps her clients by saving them money. With her connections Ms. Wantuch is able to save people money on their packages, such as the time she saved her clients $650 each on a cruise and hotel package over the cruise line's package deal.

Most of her extensive custom tours or cruises include Cancellation & Medical Travel Insurance, to cover the cost of the tour in case of medical emergencies. The insurance package will even cover air ambulance flights in an emergency or provide transportation for the client to get back home if he or she has to remain behind in a hospital. "Traveling with seniors can in some cases present a challenge concerning their health and I have dealt with a number of emergency situations while on the trips," said Mr. Wantuch. "I never want it to happen but if something does happen, I have the experience to handle it and find the best care and option for the client."

Royal Coach Tours has won Best Bus Trips, Tours and Cruises from Hometown News readers. Ms. Wantuch also is licensed with the state as a Registered Seller of Travel, a Florida Licensed Travel Insurance Agent and Accredited Cruise Counselor by Cruise Lines International Associates. She sends out brochures listing upcoming tours and will add anyone to the list.
