Hello, everyone. With the weather warming up and the days getting longer, now is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy everything that downtown Fort Pierce has to offer.

The Main Street Fort Pierce has planned some fun events for this weekend, all based around their 25th anniversary.

Their theme for the anniversary year is "Preserving the Past, Enriching the Future." And with as much work as they've put into revitalizing downtown Fort Pierce, I can hardly wait to see what the next 25 years has in store.

They will be kicking off their anniversary at the April 19 Coffee with the Mayor. If you haven't been to one of these, you are really missing a great opportunity to get to know the Mayor Linda Hudson.

The Coffee takes place at the Historic City Hall on 315 Avenue A in downtown Fort Pierce, and if you haven't been, you'll be surprised at the how many people you know that come to this event.

This is a great way to network, and businesses, community organizations and others have a chance to share information about upcoming events happening here in Fort Pierce.

Also, a congratulations to the Main Street Fort Pierce organization on their beautiful courtyard that was unveiled on April 18. If you get a chance, stop by and say "Hello" to the hard-working volunteers there. Just tell them the Hometown News sent you.

I'm sure they have lots of fun things planned for the coming year.

Until next week, drive safe, everyone.
