BREVARD -- Sometimes, all it takes is a little lipstick and a great hairstyle to lift someone's spirit.

Now, through May 1, One Senior Place in Viera is offering women 55 and older a chance to win a glamour makeover and strut her stuff at the seventh annual "Women's Day Extravaganza" at One Senior Place.

"Every woman wants to feel her best, and we want to look our best," said Kathi Ridner, director of One Senior Place. "It can definitely help us feel our best. It's wonderful how a fabulous hairstyle and a little bit of makeup and jewelry can make us feel like a million dollars. Every woman deserves to feel that."

The glamour makeover package includes a haircut, color and style from P.O.S.H Salon of Suntree, teeth whitening by Dr. Scott Reader, jewelry from Charming Charlie, cosmetics by Mary Kay and a $200 anti-aging treatment from Dr. Kim Zipper.

To apply for the contest, organizers said that women should explain a little about themselves in 300 words or less, including why a makeover would help them.

Contestants should also attach a current photo to the email and send it to Renne@OneSeniorPlace.com.

"We are looking for someone who wants to freshen up her look," Ms. Ridner said. "Maybe a recent widow who had been a caregiver for years, or someone who is recently retired and wants a different look that's a little more casual and carefree."

Ms. Ridner said they will also accept applicants in person for those who do not have access to computers.

Ms. Ridner said the event on May 17 will also feature Dr. Aimee Tieu, a uro-gynecologist with Health First, who will discuss surgical and non-surgical solutions to female urinary incontinence and female organ prolapse.

Also, Dr. Kim Zipper of Fountain of You will present "Live More, Age Less," which will focus on anti-aging lifestyle choices. DeLaura Financial Planning will also be giving away a free iPad, and the first 100 attendees will be given a special door-prize ticket, which will allow them to be entered to win.

One Senior Place is a one-stop information mini-mall and is located at 8085 Spyglass Hill Road in Viera.
