The city of Port Orange has two events at City Center this weekend.
The 16th annual Lakeside Jazz Festival is Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, and the Port Orange ArtFest is Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21.
The Jazz Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days at the Kenneth Parker Performing Arts Amphitheatre at 1000 City Center Parkway. The ArtFest will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday around City Center Circle.
More than 62 college, high school and middle school jazz bands and jazz combos will be performing during the two-day event Friday and Saturday. Each jazz band is adjudicated by a panel of university jazz educators and awards are presented.
The headliner jazz bands performing will include the Spruce Creek 12 O'Clock Jazz Band, University of North Florida Jazz 1 and 2, University of Central Florida Jazz Bands, Abraham Baldwin College from Georgia, Daytona State College, University of Florida and many other high school jazz bands from Florida and Georgia.
Preferred front row seating is available for 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Price includes full buffet dinner, desserts and beverage service. Individual seats are $15 and a table is $125. General admission is free and open to the public.
