Fishing club hosts family meetings

The Halifax Sport Fishing Club will host the first of two family dinner meetings at 6 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Riverside Pavilion, Port Orange.

The cost will be limited to expenses and will be divided among the attendees.

Members of the Snook & Gamefish Foundation Capt. Terry Winn, Rick Roberts, and Brett Fitzgerald will lead an after-dinner discussion about new ways to build the bank of much-needed recreational angler fishing data for the Action Angler Program.

All anglers can easily contribute their catch of snapper, grouper, redfish, spotted sea trout, snook, bass and other game fish to the bank. Just upload the iAngler phone app or register online at www.angleraction.org.

Test out the new program by logging a fishing trip before the meeting.

Participants who include a photo in their trip log could win a prize.

The meeting is open to members and non-members alike.

Reservations are required by April 22 and may be made by calling (386) 871 5351 or email afm198@aol.com.
