INDIAN RIVER COUNTY -- Ann Decker of Indian River State College will discuss new programs and projects at IRSC during the Democratic Women's Club of Indian River County's annual scholarship luncheon April 13 at Disney Vero Beach Resort.

Ms. Decker, the executive director of the IRSC Foundation, will focus her remarks on advances at the local college and details surrounding new developments, including the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Center.

A graduate of Indian River Community College, now Indian River State College, where she earned an associate of arts degree in business, Decker received a bachelor degree in professional business management from Barry College and holds a master in public administration from Nova Southeastern University.

She spent a career in government service with the U.S. House of Representatives, focusing on issues facing constituents in Florida's 16th Congressional District, before joining IRSC in January 2007.

Scheduled for 11:30 a.m., the Saturday luncheon will honor three local high school seniors awarded $1,000 college scholarships by the Democratic Women's Club.

The three are Cameron Dawson of Vero Beach High School, Victoria Tippin of Sebastian River High School and Rachel Koruo of Indian River Charter High School.

The DWC scholarship luncheon is open to the public. However, reservations are required; email DemLunch@aol.com.
