SUNTREE -- A local church is set to host a musical event, full of intricate harmonies and beautiful melodies, and everyone is invited.

On Friday, April 12, the Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree will host a concert by the Indialantic Chamber Singers titled "Music-- to Love, to Praise, to Dance." The free performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and features selections in English, Latin and German by a range of composers.

"Advent wants to be a blessing to our community," said David Jahn, pastor at Advent Lutheran Church. "One way we can do this is by providing a venue for outstanding musical performances, especially those that can make use of our new state-of-the-art pipe organ and excellent acoustics."

The professional-quality group, Indialantic Chamber Singers, is a mixed-voice ensemble of 40 auditioned singers, based at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic.

"In 2003 and 2007, the Indialantic Chamber Singers were invited to represent the state of Florida at the Washington National Cathedral's 'Florida Day' services," said Joyce Wilden of Buzz Biz Public Relations, in a press release.

This will be the third time the choral ensemble has performed at Advent Lutheran Church since 2010.

"The musical selections for ['Music-- to Love, to Praise, to Dance'] can be divided into several categories," said Kimberly Sellers, president of the Indialantic Chamber Singers. "We have sacred and spiritual songs to praise, including Te Deum by Mark Hayes, a cycle of love songs by Brahms, set to waltzes and a set of love songs, with words by William Shakespeare, called 'Songs and Sonnets' by George Shearing."

"Music-- to Love, to Praise, to Dance" promises to be a wonderful event for all who attend.

"People should attend this concert for the great music that they will hear from Brevard's choral ensemble," Mrs. Sellers said. "They can expect to be moved by the sacred, dance and love songs."

Pastor Jahn is confident that his newly outfitted church will be a perfect host to the Indialantic Chamber Singers.

"There is no finer acoustic and aesthetic environment in Brevard County, in which to experience excellent choral singing," Pastor Jahn added. "Also, since this program is designed for organ accompaniment, it will be a wonderful experience for any, who love choral music and the pipe organ.

"Music-- to Love, to Praise, to Dance" is Friday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree. The event is free and will feature the Indialantic Chamber Singers.

Advent Lutheran Church is located at 7550 North Wickham Road, Suntree.
