ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- The 17th annual Chuck Hill Golf Classic to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County will be held on May 4, with a 1 p.m. Shotgun start, at Club Med, the Sandpiper Bay Golf Club in Port St. Lucie.

Chuck Hill, Charles Cuomo, Jack Kelly and Bob Johnson, this year's Golf Tournament co-chairs, and their committee have been busy planning a great day of golf, filled with competition, fun, prizes and fellowship. Golfers will enjoy the usual contests of Hole-in-One, closest to the pin, and longest drive.

The cost is $75 per individual or $300 per foursome. Sponsors include Club Med. To play, sponsor a team or sponsor a tee, call (772) 468-0090 or email ccuomo550@hotmail.com. Tournament is limited to the first 100 paid golfers. All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County.

Five years ago, the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors renamed the annual golf tournament the "Chuck Hill" Golf Classic honoring retired principal and founding board member Chuck Hill who originated the tournament 17 years ago.

Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised and it is fair to say that without the tournament, the club would not have prospered as it has.

The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the youth of the community.
