Florida Hospital HospiceCare hosted the 2013 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon to honor the nearly 200 volunteers for the 2012 calendar year on March 12. The themed event, Down by the Sea, was at Oceanside Country Club, 75 N. Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach.

In 2012, Florida Hospital HospiceCare volunteers contributed 15,000 hours to the organization, at a value of more than $325,000.

"We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers' contributions," said Raeanne Cade, Florida Hospital HospiceCare Volunteer Coordinator. "While this cost savings was very important, our hospice volunteers most important contribution was in their connection to patients and families, as well as the comfort and enhanced quality of life their service created."
