Hello, everyone. For a while there on Sunday afternoon, it was pretty scary. Lots of smoke and lots of fire trucks took up Indrio Road and parts of Kings Highway.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who stepped up to help out, from all the agencies to the Red Cross.

While there were some damages and some injuries, literally thousands of homes were saved, and for that, we're all grateful.

For those living in wooded areas, take this recent brushfire as a hint to clean up your yard and surrounding area of any dry plants and branches. A little bit of prevention goes a long way.

For those wondering what to do this weekend, I almost don't know where to begin, except to definitely start in Downtown Fort Pierce at the Hooked on Music Festival.

For those of you looking for Easter fun, head over to Butterfield's Pharmacy, where there will be photos with the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt from noon to 3 p.m. at their store on Turnpike Feeder Road in Fort Pierce.

Also in Fort Pierce, on Orange Avenue, the Bibleway International will have an Easter Fest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 30. Everything is free, and there will be a bounce house, dunk tank, egg hunt and other activities for both children and adults.

While these events are fun for the kids, these are just a few examples of the amazing groups in Fort Pierce that work tirelessly to give back to the community. What a perfect time of year to recognize everyone here for all the hard work they do trying to make the community they live in a better place for all.

Have a Happy Easter, everyone, and drive safe.
