College hosting financial aid seminar

Cash for College at Indian River State College is a one-day event to help new and returning students obtain financial aid for college.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at all IRSC campuses and the IRSC Blackburn Educational Building in Fort Pierce.

The event is designed to help college-bound individuals of any age with the financial aid application process.

Cash for College will take place at the Main Campus, W Building, at the corner of Virginia Avenue and 35th Street in Fort Pierce; Blackburn Education Building, at 3002 Avenue D in Fort Pierce and the Pruitt Campus, St. Lucie West Library at 500 N.W. California Blvd. in Port St. Lucie.

College to present galactic show

The Indian River State College Hallstrom Planetarium will present the galactic show, The Planets on April 5 and 6, April 19 and 20, May 17 and 18, and June 14 and 15. Planetarium show times are Friday evenings at 7 and 8 p.m. and Saturday afternoons at 1 and 2 p.m. Tickets are $3 each and may be purchased at the IRSC Box Office at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center or by calling (800) 220-9915 with VISA, Discover, American Express, or MasterCard or visit www.irsc.edu. Planetarium shows are recommended for adults and for children over the age of four. The Hallstrom planetarium's temperature is maintained at 72 degrees and visitors may want to bring a light jacket or sweater.
