Hello everyone. I want to take a moment to offer my congratulations to Thomas Corr for being chosen as the recipient of the Dan K. Richardson Entrepreneur of the Year.
Looking over his accomplishments, it is obvious he cares deeply about his community. It is people like Mr. Corr that make Indian River County and the surrounding areas a better place to live.
It also looked like the people have spoken when it comes to the sale of the utility in Vero Beach. Now comes a large dose of patience, as the final bits and piece of the contracts are finalized.
As far as something to do this weekend, there are plenty of Easter related activities going on that will fit the bill for children and adults alike.
If you want to do something to help the environment, the Environmental Learning Center is sponsoring a beach cleanup from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cleanup is part of its 25th anniversary events, and gloves, bags and picker-uppers will be provided.
One of the fun parts of today is when people come back with a full bag of trash, they'll get a special thank-you gift.
For those that love to read, there is a special book signing taking place at Brain Freeze Frozen Yogurt from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 30.
Author Jon Bergstrom, who wrote the children's book Denali's Dream, will be at the business, located on 7th Avenue in Vero Beach to meet people and sign copies.
There might also be a special guest with floppy ears and a cotton tail, but you'll have to head out there to see who I'm talking about.
I'll see you out and about this weekend. Drive safe!
