INDIAN RIVER COUNTY -- Richard A. Clarke will address counterterrorism and cybersecurity during an April 1 lecture at Riverside Theatre. The final speaker in this season's Distinguished Lecturer Series, Mr. Clarke is an internationally-recognized expert on security, including homeland security, national security, cybersecurity and counterterrorism.

His career spans three decades, and he has served the last three presidents as a Senior White House advisor. Prior to his White House years, Mr. Clarke served for 19 years in the Pentagon, the Intelligence Community and State Department.

In his book, "Cyber War: The Next Threat to National Security and What to Do About It," he contends that the next war will be with "bits and bytes rather than bombs and bullets."

The lecture will take place in the Stark Mainstage at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a live simulcast in the Waxlax theatre. Tickets are $85 and $60, respectively. A reception is held immediately following the first lecture. Each lecture ends with a question and answer segment, and attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance through the Distinguished Lecturer Series' dedicated website, which is new this season: www.RiversideLecturerSeries.com.

For ticket information, call the Riverside box office at (772) 231-6990.
