COCOA -- For the chance to sample some of Cocoa's best chili recipes, residents are encouraged to attend the fourth annual "Cocoa Village Chili Cook-Off."

On Saturday, March 30, from 4 to 7 p.m., organizers said that guests will have the opportunity to sample as much chili as they want, as well as decide who has the best chili in the village, making him or her the winner of this year's cook-off and the "2013 People's Choice Champion."

Samantha Senger, leisure services manager for the city of Cocoa, said the event is a great opportunity for the community to come together for a good time.

"If you love chili and a great time, come out to the (event) and see who gets crowned the '2013 People's Choice Champion,'" she said. "It's a great time for the whole family and some great local chili. We have all of the best local chili vendors all in one spot."

Ms. Senger said the event, which is for guests of all ages, includes a performance from "The Acetones."

"This is a fun, family-friendly event," she said. "We will have fun things for the kids, as well as a great band, live, on stage, and plenty of great chili samples."

Admission for the event is $5, and all proceeds from the cook-off will go toward funding other inexpensive or free events for the community.

The City of Cocoa and the Historic Cocoa Village Association's fourth annual "Cocoa Village Chili Cook-Off" will be on Saturday, March 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Downtown Cocoa Village.
