The cosmic implications of Easter
Rating: 3.11 / 5 (27 votes)

Easter is nearly here. For many, it's the season of pastel colors, egg hunts, baskets of goodies and jellybeans - all fun stuff.

But the greatest joy is knowing that, on the very first Easter morning, a non-violent love-mongering peacenick, named Jesus, was vindicated by God.

Jesus' way - God's way - of peace and love could not be extinguished by an empire bent on hate and injustice. The cross could not kill Jesus, did not kill Jesus. He lives. Love won. Love wins.

As a consequence on Easter, much of the world celebrates the fact that love wins.

Love wins! Think about that. It has cosmic implications beyond right triumphing on a day in a garden 2,000 years ago.

It means that love cannot be stopped. Love cannot be stopped!

Hate can try and hold love back, but it seeps like a wave through a sandcastle wall. Its waves flow over and through and on and on and on.

The Easter message that love wins means there is real hope that the Christmas message of "peace on earth good will to all" can happen . . . will happen.

God is love.

Christ is God incarnate on earth.

Christ lives.

In a stranger in the garden.

In a stranger on the road.

In stranger at the beach.

In all who tend to the least of us.

In you.

In me.

In all of us.

In all the hues of love.

In Easter.
