Almost 400 people turned out for Southern Oaks Middle School annual Family Science Night on March 12. Students and parents participated in many hands-on science activities that the middle school teachers had prepared to represent the different sciences. A number of high school schools were represented, including Fort Pierce Central, who brought students from its culinary arts programs and did a demonstration. The school also brought its automotive, biology and HOSA programs, while Fort Pierce Westwood brought their MOA program. Students and parents were able to enjoy all the great science programs and learn a little about what is expected in high school and beyond. A thanks goes out to Fort Pierce Central and Westwood teachers, students and administrators.
