Hello everyone.

I want to take a moment to offer my congratulations to Thomas Corr for being chosen as the recipient of the Dan K. Richardson Entrepreneur of the Year.

Looking over his accomplishments, it is obvious he cares deeply about his community. It is people like Mr. Corr that make Indian River County and the surrounding areas a better place to live.

It also looked like the people have spoken when it comes to the sale of the utility in Vero Beach. Now comes a large dose of patience, as the final bits and piece of the contracts are finalized.

For those looking to catch some theatrical performances this weekend, don't forget there are two finishing up this weekend.

The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is ending its run of "Beauty and the Beast," and the Riverside Theatre is finishing up its tribute to Stephen Sondheim, called "Side by Side by Sondheim."

If it's live talent you want to see, there are two events taking place this weekend you are sure to enjoy.

The first is the state competition for the title of Ms. Senior Florida. The winner, decided the evening of March 23, will represent the state of Florida at the national pageant.

This is the first time the pageant is taking place in Vero Beach, and we actually have 10 ladies from Vero Beach competing in the pageant!

It's being held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, and the competition begins at 7 p.m., so come on out and root for your favorite.

Another talented competition taking place this weekend is the second annual Senior Idol, which takes over the Indian River Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The competition is being held in front of Dillard's, and invited seniors ages 65 and older for the chance to be crowned Indian River County's Senior Idol.

The winner will take home a gift card from the mall, along with the coveted title.

I'll see you out and about this weekend. Drive safe!
