VERO BEACH -- Christ Church Vero Beach will host a parenting workshop on Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, called "Parenting on Purpose."

Renowned speaker, Bob Barnes, will present the workshop.

Childcare will be provided both days, which will begin with a light dinner served Friday at 5:45 p.m., with the program from 7 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, childcare opens at 8:30 a.m. and the program will be held from 9 a.m. until noon.

Parenting on Purpose will help parents establish a pattern of positive behavior and self-control to get the home in order and avoid future disaster. Topics include: the power of no; discipline; what to do when parents disagree and raising responsible children.

Bob Barnes, president of Sheridan House Family Ministries, serves the needs of families and children in south Florida. He is a well-noted speaker, presenting seminars and conferences on Parenting and Marriage throughout North America. He is also the host of a weekly radio program (Reach FM 98.3) and the author of ten books for families, published in several languages.

Dr. Barnes has a doctorate in counseling and received his education at Maryville College, and Florida Atlantic University. He has been married to Rosemary Johnson Barnes since 1972 and they have two married children, Torrey and Robey.

The church is located at 925 14th Lane in Vero Beach, behind the Outback Steakhouse.

To register for this free two-day experience and to reserve childcare, call Tracy Trudell at (772) 562-8670.
