Foundation to raise money for burn victims
On Wednesday, March 20, the Van Duzer Foundation will host an event with all proceeds from sales at Big Apple Pizza & Pasta in Fort Pierce from 4 to 10 p.m. to benefit eight year-old Demetrius Gollett, a student at White City Elementary School student was critically injured in a home fire on Feb. 18.
The fire claimed the life of Demetrius' great-grandmother, Barbara Jean Ponders and seriously injured his great-grandfather, Willie Clarence Ponders. It left the entire extended family homeless, and it will be a long and arduous journey ahead for Demetrius and his beloved grandfather.

Mall to host senior idol
The Indian River Mall has teamed up with Sebastian River Medical Center and 97.1 Ocean FM to host the Second Annual Senior Idol. Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 23 in front of Dillard's.
Seniors from the Treasure Coast aged 65 and up are invited to audition to be crowned Indian River County's Senior Idol.
