MARTIN COUNTY -- You don't have to go to church to enjoy StarStruck's latest musical Altar Boyz, scheduled to run for one weekend only from March 21-24.
This musical is also starring the 2011 Broadway World Award winner Josh Rhett Noble, playing the role of Matthew.
The musical is about a Christian boy band from Greenville, Ohio and the audience is introduced to them on the last night of their concert tour.
The "boyz," aptly named Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham (he's Jewish) display various personalities and all the dance moves the audience needs to enjoy this fun romp.
The show first premiered in 2004 at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and is based on a book by Kevin Del Aguila. In 2005 it won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical.
The "boyz," determined to make it big, help to bring the funk, lift the soul and spread a message about the power of faith, friendship and brotherhood.
StarStruck Theatre is located at 2101 S. Kanner Highway in Stuart. The show will run from March 21 through March 24, and tickets range from $19 and up. For more information, call (772) 283-7787 or go online to www.StarStruckFL.com.
