Thrift stores to hold Spring Fling sale

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast's two thrift stores are preparing for a pre-Easter Spring Fling sale March 14 to 18 at Thrift Store North, 1099 N.W. 21st Street and Thrift Store South, 2585 S.E. Federal Highway, both in Stuart, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, on St. Patrick's Day, Sunday, March 17, all adoptions will be only $17 at the store locations and at the shelter, 4100 S.W. Leighton Farm Ave., in Palm City.

Committee to discuss gun safety

The Martin County Republican Executive Committee will host Ed Henson, acclaimed instructor and owner of St. Lucie Shooting Center on March 18. Mr. Henson will address the issues of gun safety, personal protection and home defense. The dinner and presentation will be held at Southern Pig and Cattle Co., 2583 S.E. Mall to host senior idol

The Indian River Mall has teamed up with Sebastian River Medical Center and 97.1 Ocean FM to host the Second Annual Senior Idol. Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 23 in front of Dillard's.

Seniors from the Treasure Coast aged 65 and up are invited to audition to be crowned Indian River County's Senior Idol.
