MARTIN COUNTY -- The Council on Aging of Martin County is looking for volunteers to deliver hot noontime meals to area homebound residents. Delivery hours are 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Routes can also be shared on a bi-weekly basis; businesses can also adopt a route.
Meals on Wheels volunteers must have a valid driver's license and access to a car. Delivery routes are available in Jensen Beach, Stuart, Palm City, Hobe Sound and Port Salerno.
The nonprofit Council on Aging of Martin County provides programs that help seniors live independently in their own homes, including: Meals on Wheels, an adult day program, care management, caregiver support and in-home services. The Council is the longest standing organization in the county dedicated to serving our senior population (in their homes or within the senior center).
