TREASURE COAST -- The Safe Place program is designed to assist youth that are at-risk, in crisis or have run away from home.
National Safe Place provides access to immediate help and supportive resources for young people in crisis through a network of sites sustained by qualified agencies, trained volunteers, and businesses. Between 1.7 and 2.8 million kids run away each year.
More than 120,000 youth have received help at Safe Place Sites nationally. There are 17,000 Safe Place sites available across the United States and 164 sites throughout the Treasure Coast.
Safe Place is one of 11 programs the Children's Home Society of Florida operates on the Treasure Coast that fulfills our mission of Embracing Children, Inspiring Lives.
Our strategic framework is focused around reducing the incidence of intergenerational abuse and neglect. Children's Home Society of Florida served nearly 12,000 children and families on the Treasure Coast during fiscal year 2011-12.
