For the first time on stage, the Athens Theatre presents the Spanish theatrical play "Tierra Rebelde" (Rebellious Land).
The grand premier will be Friday, March 22, and the Blue Carpet will be rolled out to support the Fight Against Child Abuse. The play will continue with two more presentations on Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24.
"Tierra Rebelde" is the story of a young girl marked by child abuse and violation. Performed in Spanish, scene after scene we see the conflict, the guilty ones, and the struggle for Lucia to survive and become a transformed and vital person.
Tierra Rebelde also entails a story of love and the capacity to forgive with lessons of justice against those who attack the innocence of a child through physical and sexual abuse. A story from Samuel R. Andrade and written by Mario Antonio Rosa, Rebellious Land is an actual testimony and a message of hope and overcoming through inner growth and healing.
Admission to the play is $18 in advance or $20 at door. Rebellious Land has the opportunity to offer the program "Outreach" to companies and small businesses wishing to help organizations or agencies that serve the community to see the play.
