Halifax Habitat for Humanity has named the GE Volunteers the 2013 Spirit of Hope Award winner.
The GE Volunteers will be honored at the fourth annual Celebration of Hope at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Museum of Art & Sciences in Daytona Beach.
The Spirit of Hope award was created by the Halifax Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors to pay tribute to the idea that support to those in need brings something beyond the tangible gift -- it brings a sense the family is valued and these children matter to our community -- it brings ... a spirit of hope. Past honorees include Forough and Mori Hosseini, Daytona International Speedway and Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co.
"The contributions and personal commitments of the GE Volunteers to the Habitat mission and the community overall are significant and lasting," said Lori Campbell Baker, Halifax Habitat president said.
The GE Volunteers have worked on more than 100 Habitat homes.
