
Sergeant Gary Morales, 35, of Port St. Lucie, died Feb. 28, 2013.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1999.
He served in the U.S. Air Force where he received the Air Force Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon Longevity Service Award Ribbon and Air Force Training Ribbon.
He earned a Master's degree in criminal justice from Keiser University.
He was worked for the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office for 12 years and was recently promoted to Sergeant Deputy. He received the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office Medal of Honor-Posthumously, Exceptional Duty, Unit Citation, Good Conduct, Sept. 2004-Hurricane Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Holly; two daughters, Brooklynn Simone and Jordan Lyndsey; his parents, William and Candy; three brothers, Brian (Bobbie Jo), Ken (Amanda) and Brad (Shayna); his grandmother Romanita and eight nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ruben and his grandparents Enrigue and Conchita.
