Port St. Lucie resident Vicki Wood, 93, also known as the fastest woman on the beach, shares a humorous story of her racing career with Liz Findley of Michigan and son Michael Findley Jr., 9, during the 8th annual Beach Racing Day at the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse in Ponce Inlet, Friday, Feb. 22. Ms. Wood set the track record with the fastest one-way run in the history of racing back in 1960 at 150.375 m.p.h. on Daytona Beach. She is also one of the founding members of the Living Legends of Auto Racing.
