TREASURE COAST -- Writers and aspiring authors are invited to polish their craft at the Indian River State College Writer's Day event on March 16.
Writer's Day will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Room Y-102, on the IRSC Main Campus, 3209 Virginia Ave. in Fort Pierce. Lunch will be provided.
The Brown Center is located on the 35th Street side of the campus.
This program is designed to improve writing, thinking and communication skills. Participants may register for $25 per person, payable to the IRSC Foundation. Space is limited to the first 55 registrants.
Writer's Day will include multi-media presentations and discussions dealing with a variety of topics such as research techniques, dialogue, style, poetic language, creative non-fiction, characterization, passion, creativity, technology, listening, critical thinking and much more.
The event is sponsored by the IRSC Foundation, The Gladys Williams Wolf Endowed Teaching Chair in Communications, The Center for Media and Journalism Studies, and the English, Communications, and Modern Languages Department at IRSC.
