FORT PIERCE -- Looking back over her two decades of owning a business in St. Lucie County, Linda "Lady Fish" is proud of paving the way for others.
Over the years, she has used her skills as a tattoo and permanent make-up artist to perform thousands of life-enhancing procedures that have transformed her client's appearance.
"Many have experienced handicaps and medical conditions, or they just wanted to counteract the look of aging," Lady Fish said. "I gave them confidence by helping them look their best."
She has achieved many accomplishments over the years. Beginning her artistic ability at the age of 9 by oil painting and sewing, by the age of 16 she was airbrushing motorcycles. When she turned 18, she was introduced to the art of tattooing.
"Two years later, I was given the opportunity to become skilled in the art and partnered with several studios in New York and Florida, along with three family generations working in the business," she said.
Currently, she is listed in the Tattoo Archives and the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, and over the years has been featured throughout the world on television, in magazines and local newspapers.
Among her many awards, she has even earned the "Best Overall Female" for her tattooing skills.
"I have combined my knowledge with my talent to introduce to the medical field the many benefits permanent make-up has to offer," she said.
Using her skill as a portrait artist, she loves to transform her client's appearance by styling their eyebrows, enhance their eyes with eyeliner and their lips with permanent color and design.
"I also do scar camouflaging, hair simulations and areola color recon structuring," she said. "The benefits are endless."
This service works well for women in the workforce or handicapped, and relieves them of the everyday hassle of applying and buying makeup. It's waterproof, hassle-free and always fresh.
Linda "Lady Fish" started in Port St. Lucie in 1993, and in 2010 restored a house on Midway Road in Fort Pierce that was originally built in 1910. Now her business, painted pink, is located in a beautiful historical and peaceful country setting. Along the walls are displays of her art and achievements over the years.
"I have proved that one woman can achieve her dream of running a business on her own and provide a service that benefits thousands," she said. "My clients are my testimonials and my living canvases."
