MARTIN COUNTY -- Martin County Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care welcomes Sophia Adams, RN as the new Director of Nursing.
Her duties include overseeing Martin County PPEC operations and staff, coordinating schedules, staff to child ratio, parent and staff orientations among other duties.
"Sophia has a deep understanding of how PPEC's operate and proven skills as a Pediatric Registered Nurse," said Evelyn Duah, administrator of Martin County PPEC. "She is well suited for the Director of Nursing position and is sure to succeed in this challenging new role."
Ms. Adams began her 12-year career in pediatric nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Broward County working for home health care and prescribed pediatric extended care organizations. She relocated to St. Lucie County in 2006 to further her education and career. Adams became a Registered Nurse in 2012 after graduating from the Indian River State College Nursing Program.
Martin County Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care is a medical day care for special-needs children, newborn to 20 years of age, with complex and fragile medical, developmental and technology dependent needs serving Martin and St. Lucie counties.
The pediatric nurses, physical therapist, speech therapist, and respiratory therapist provide specialized care for exceptional children to ensure each child's optimal health and well-being in a fun, caring and educational environment.
