Business hall of fame dinner program

Junior Achievement of the Space Coast will present the Space Coast Business Hall of Fame laureates Robin Fisher, Brevard County Dist. 1 Commissioner (and of Robin L. Fisher Insurance), and Catherine Ford, of Holy Trinity Episcopal School, Saturday, March 9 at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place at 5:30 p.m.

Local financial advisor to go to leaders conference

Ayad B. Saad, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Suntree/Viera, has qualified for the firm's 2013 Financial Advisor Leaders Conference.

This conference recognizes financial advisors who are among the leaders in the financial-services firm.

Mr. Saad was one of only 793 financial advisors who qualified out of the firm's more than 11,000 financial advisors.

Service advisor rejoins wealth management firm

 

Robert DeVries is rejoining the independent wealth management company, FirstWave Financial, as a service advisor.

In this capacity, Mr. DeVries will serve clients by developing individualized financial plans and assisting in the implementation of their financial strategies.

Mr. DeVries has a Masters in Business Administration in finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. New director at animal services

Karla Torpy, formerly with the Melbourne law firm of Moletteire & Torpy, is the new director of Brevard County Animal Services and Enforcement and recently received unanimous confirmation from the Brevard County Board of Commissioners.

Ms. Torpy, who spent 18 years practicing law in Brevard County, calls her new role an "essential mission to promote responsible pet ownership by promoting and protecting the health, safety and welfare of residents and animals in Brevard County."

Assistant department director Kathy Beatson served as the interim director of Animal Services and Enforcement since July 2011.

New marketing director announced
