Churches focus on poverty

The United Methodist Women of the Coronado Community and Edgewater United Methodist Churches are sponsoring a mission study on poverty at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Coronado Community United Methodist Church, 201 S. Peninsula Ave., New Smyrna Beach,

There will be speakers from Star Family Center (part of HUM), Goodwill Industries, Gifts of Love (Edgewater), Edgewater United Methodist Church Pantry and F.A.I.T.H.

At 9:30 a.m., refreshments will be available in the Fellowship Hall. The program will start at 10 a.m. in the music/lecture suite.

Participants are asked to bring two nonperishable food items for the pantry at Edgewater UMC.
