ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- The nearly 8,000 homeless cats and dogs that pass through the doors of the Humane Society of St. Lucie County each year are the main focus of this year's Fur Ball & Catsino Night.
This popular annual event, now in its ninth year, will be full of fun, festivities and friends. Guests are encouraged to come to the Pelican Yacht Club on March 9 dressed in their best western attire for a night of cocktails, dinner, music, live and silent auctions and Vegas-style gaming with fabulous Miss Kitty in the Silver Spur Saloon.
"This is an exciting year for us because of building a new facility in Port St. Lucie which will open in the fall," said Rita Hart, marketing and outreach coordinator for the Humane Society. "Now is such an important time for the community to help the thousands of homeless animals in the county."
The event is co-chaired by the Humane Society of St. Lucie County board members Sandee Allen, Pam Landers and Joanne Ferrara.
The Humane Society is still seeking participation from the community to make this event a success. Several levels of sponsorship are available with all proceeds from the event benefitting the Humane Society of St. Lucie County.
Tickets are on sale for $100 per person for the western-themed evening of dinner, cocktails, a live and silent auction and Vegas-Style gaming in "Miss Kitty's Silver Spur Saloon".
