MARTIN COUNTY -- The Council on Aging of Martin County has announced that its spring fundraiser, "Flower Power," will be held at 11 a.m. March 13 at the Kane Center.
The event, which features a luncheon, fashion show and silent auction, benefits the Council's Meals on Wheels program.
More than $25,000 was raised last year for meals for disadvantaged homebound seniors.
The fashion show will feature clothing from April Daze, Evelyn & Arthur, Patchington and Suit Yourself. Kelley Dunn of WPTV Channel 5 will emcee the show. Anchor Home Health Services is the presenting sponsor for the seventh year running.
The nonprofit organization provides programs that help seniors live independently in their own homes, including: Meals on Wheels, an adult day program, care management, caregiver support and in-home services.
The council is the longest standing organization in the county dedicated to serving our senior population (in their homes or within the senior center).
