PORT ST. LUCIE -- On Friday, Feb. 8, Port St. Lucie detectives arrested Marland Hugh Anderson, 27, of Port St. Lucie.
Mr. Anderson, a Wells Fargo Bank employee, was charged with six felonies relating to fraud.
"Working with bank security, Port St. Lucie police discovered that between August 2012 and December 2012, Mr. Anderson obtained two debit cards issued to a 77-year-old Port St. Lucie woman," said Sgt. Frank Sabol, Port St. Lucie police department public information officer, in a press release.
Mr. Anderson also accessed the victim's bank account and used both the debit cards to steal the victim's money. In total, Mr. Anderson stole more than $5,000 before authorities were alerted.
He was arrested and charged with crimes against a person, exploitation of the elderly, illegal use of credit cards, fraud, using impersonation to obtain property, illegally using credit cards more than two times in a six month period and grand theft.
During the investigation into this victim, detectives have identified at least four more victims. The investigation will continue.
