BREVARD -- Those looking for potential employment opportunities are encouraged to attend the first Brevard Employment Expo hosted by Brevard County Parks and Recreation.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 9 at the Viera Regional Community Center, jobseekers can meet with various employers from around the community, organizers said.
"I would attend looking professional and with a resume," said Kristin Swenson, community center coordinator. "This is a good way to gain experience in interviewing and introducing yourself."
Ms. Swenson said the event will also be a chance for Brevard employers to network with one another and advertise potential job openings.
"It's a great opportunity for current job openings or future job openings for employers," Ms. Swenson said. "We have contacted well over 250 employers in the community for the past six months, so I would encourage an employer to register early for this great opportunity."
Ms. Stewart said she encourages businesses to attend the expo even if they currently do not have open positions for employment.
"It would be great for future employment because, if (an employer) gets down the line and a spot opens, they will already have contact information for (potential employees)."
Organizers said businesses can obtain applications at the center or online at www.brevardcounty.us/ParksSouth.
Vendor Spaces, which are 10-foot by 10-foot, are $31.80 and include a 5-foot table. Deadlines for payments are Monday, March 4.
Organizers said all spaces provided for the event will be indoors.
