LEAD Brevard announces leadership awards

LEAD Brevard has announced the "2013 LEAD Brevard Leadership Awards," featuring the ninth annual "4 Under Recognition," to be held on Friday, March 1 at the Studio Theater at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne. 

The "4 Under 40 Recognition" showcases the many young adults who are working to make a positive impact in Brevard County through their leadership and commitment to community service.

LEAD Brevard will also recognize the 2013 recipients of the Rodney S. Ketcham Leadership Icon Award and the Leadership Brevard Distinguished Alumni Award.

Finalists for the recognition of '4 Under 40' are: Steven Allender, Allender & Allender; Sky Beard, Early Learning Coalition of Brevard; Bradley Evers, Harris Corporation; Aliona Groh, Embraer Executive Jets; Elizabeth Huy, EDC of Florida's Space Coast; J. Travis Kerr, Architects in Assoc. Rood, Zwick & Kerr, Inc.; Tiffany Nail, NASA/Kennedy Space Center; Amar Patel, Brevard Achievement Center; Julie Roslin, EDC of Florida's Space Coast; Alex Rudloff, TEDx; Sarah Soliven, student, Melbourne High School; and Rachad Wilson, Brevard Public Schools/Endeavour Elementary.

From more than 50 nominations, finalists were chosen by a group of independent community leaders based on the following criteria:

Demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession

Provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community

Clearly serves as a role model for others, personally and professionally

Are younger than 40 on Jan. 1 and live or work in Brevard County

Showcases a commitment to his/her personal/professional development

Individual seating for the gala and awards presentation is $49 per person. A reserved block of 10 seats is available for $450.

Reservations and pre-payment are required by Monday, Feb. 25.
