Falcons get pinked out for final home basketball games, Feb. 23
Daytona State College's women's basketball and men's basketball teams will don pink shirts and socks for their final home games on Saturday, Feb. 23, in recognition of breast cancer awareness.
The Lady Falcons tip-off their game at 2 p.m. against Florida State College-Jacksonville, and the Falcons tip-off at 4 p.m. against Santa Fe College. Spectators are encouraged to show their support for both the Falcons and breast cancer awareness by wearing pink.
Both games are free and open to the public and take place in the Lemerand Center (Building 310) on the Daytona Beach campus, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Jumping clinic offered
Silver Sands Bridle Club will host a clinic with Christina Schlusemeyer on Sunday, April 14, at 625 Tomoka Farms Road, New Smyrna Beach.
Ms Schlusemeyer is a well known hunter jumper instructor who has trained more than 125 national champions.
There will be three, two house sessions with up to eight riders. Bio is needed with applicant placement. Stalls are required. Cost is $100. A deposit of $50 is required. One guest audit or per clinic participant. Auditing is available for $20 per person.
The deadline for registration is April 1.

Baseball registration opens
The city of Port Orange is conducting registration for its 2013 youth baseball and fast pitch softball programs.
Participants may register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, at the Port Orange Gymnasium, 4655 City Center Circle.
The fee is $70 for Babe Ruth Youth Baseball and Babe Ruth Fast Pitch softball.
The ages are 7 to 16 for softball and 6 to 12 for Babe Ruth Baseball.
There will also be a 5 year old rookie program for $45.
Please contact the department for additional information for boys 13 and older.
All non-residents will pay an additional fee of $20.
The last day to register is Thursday Feb. 28.
Sponsors and coaches are needed. Coaches organizational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 27, at the Port Orange Gym.

Daytona men's tennis team competing at open
The USTA Florida Tri-Level league tennis men's team from Daytona Beach, will represent the USTA Florida Section at the 2013 BNP Paribas Open Tri-Level Championship after clinching berths at the USTA Florida Section Tri-Level League Playoffs Feb. 9-10 at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.
The Volusia/Flagler counties men's team, captained by John Hudson, was undefeated in the playoffs with wins over Duval and North Palm Beach counties. The team roster is Martin Larsson, Ryan Murray, Noel Gubatan, Todd Vanhoozier, Preston Carpenter, John Hollis, Ron Browning, Rock Gentile, James Stewart, and Kirk Searls.
The 2013 BNP Paribas Open Tri-Level Championship in Indian Wells, Calif., is a doubles competition in which each of the 17 USTA Sections provide the opportunity to send a team representing its section to compete.
