PORT ST. LUCIE -- The arrest of Errol Iian Johnson brought an end to a search by area law enforcement for the suspect in a daylight shooting in Port St. Lucie a day earlier.
Mr. Johnson was apprehended by the United States Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force and arrested in Gifford without incident in the afternoon of Feb. 6.
According to a press release from the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers responded the report of a shooting that took place at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 1400 block of Falmouth Avenue in Port St. Lucie.
The report states that Luders Croissy, 21, was standing in the driveway of his home when Mr. Johnson was driven to the house by an unknown suspect in a tan- or gold-colored sedan.
When he arrived, Mr. Johnson exited the car carrying a shotgun. The report goes on to state he shot Mr. Croissy in the chest, then fled the scene.
Mr. Croissy was airlifted to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Mr. Johnson has been charged with attempted murder. Police have learned the identity of the driver of the car, but is not releasing the information at this time.
